Dear HTCIA Members,
I am pleased to announce that the 2021 HTCIA Annual Conference will be held in-person September 26-29 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The safety and well-being of our attendees, volunteers, and staff is of the utmost importance to us and the HTCIA will adhere to Arizona’s COVID-19 restrictions and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) health and safety measures for a meeting of our size.
Registration for the conference has opened. We are doing something different this year and are opening the conference to both physical and online attendees. We know that travel restrictions are in place and many members from outside the U.S. cannot yet travel due to Covid restrictions. Having a Hybrid conference will allow attendance by many more members than ever before.
This year’s conference includes topics related to Cloud forensics, Cryptocurrency investigations, qualifications of the digital forensic examiner as a witness, forensic analysis of data in an SQLite database, PowerShell of Incident Response, OSINT techniques, IOS Forensics and many more technology investigation topics. These courses will also for the first time qualify attendees of the training blocks for required certification hours for the HTCIA partnership with the National White Collar Crimes Center’s certifications. In addition to the educational events, our annual awards for Case of the Year, Chapter of the Year and our Life-Time Achievement winners will be announced. We hope you will consider joining us in-person at our awards dinner to help celebrate the accomplishments of these outstanding individuals.
We know that many of you depend on the HTCIA Annual Conference to learn the up-to-date techniques and skills to stay relevant in the High-Tech Crime Investigation field. If you are unable to attend the 2021 HTCIA Annual Conference in person or online don’t forget we have virtual HTCIA events scheduled throughout the year. Brief details of these events are below.
I would like to thank Ken Haynes, Chair of the Conference Committee, and the members of the conference committee along with the Arizona Chapter for their dedication and work throughout the uncertainty of the pandemic. I continue to be awed and humbled by the dedication and steadfastness of the HTCIA members, volunteers, and staff. Also, I have to thank our vendors for their continuing support. Please be sure to stop by their booths at the conference or their virtual presence.
I look forward to seeing you in Phoenix or online for one of our virtual events. It is a privilege to serve as the HTCIA President and I thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Todd
